  • Tang Dynasty was from 618-906 C.E
    • Regarded as the golden age of Chinese civilization
    • Became a cosmopolitan empire because of the diverse cultures
  • Song Dynasty was from 960-1279 C.E
    • This is the era of significant economic and social changes
    • There was growth in commerce and maritime trade
  • Yuan Dynasty was from 1279-1368 C.E
    • The Yuan Dynasty was founded by the Mongols because of their conquest for the world
  • Ming Dynasty was from 1368-1644 C.E
    • Despite early expansion it was an inward-looking empire
    • During this dynasty it was a vibrant literary scene
  • Qing Dynasty was from 1644-1912 C.E
    • Continued economic trends of the late Ming Dynasty
    • A huge growth in population resulted in needing more territory which hurt the Dynasty as they could not handle that much territory with their system
