Required Supplies:
You must use a pencil for assignments!
Recommended Supplies:
Binder Organization: Write your name on the outside of the binder. My recommendation is organizing by dividers. Here are the units to divide your sections by:
Absences: It is your responsibility to make up your work, get notes, etc. when absent. You will find missed work on the website and it is your responsibility to print and fill out any notes and worksheets (the next day you are back—not the next class and not during class).
Unit Quizzes & Test: Attempt all problems and show your work. Solutions must be neat, organized and thorough.
Re-Assessment Policy: In order to be eligible for a retake on a Unit test, you must complete all homework PRIOR to taking the assessment the first time around. If all homework is not completed before the test day, you are not eligible to complete a retake. Keep in mind quizzes cannot be retaken!
Students may complete a re-assessment for unit tests AFTER completing corrective action. All corrective action and re-assessment opportunities must be completed within 2 weeks of the original test date! You have one week to take the corrective action and the second week to retake the test. If you do not complete the extra practice during that first week, you will NOT be allowed to take the retest!
Special Note: It is highly recommended that you do NOT rely on retakes for this class.
Mastery Checks: There will be daily mastery checks created from problems like the homework and classwork. They will be graded on accuracy. If you are absent, plan on making it up in the testing center.
Homework: This year, homework will primarily be assignments requiring students to complete extra practice on concepts we went over during class. Students should attempt each problem to the best of their ability. This practice is an integral part of being successful in this class, and must be completed prior to class.
Extra Help: During school hours, Math Lab available during every study hall (rm 211). Don’t fall behind—seek out extra help!
Keep in mind... This is an HONORS level course and we move at a significantly faster rate than the Algebra 2 classes. In order to me successful, it is important that you are spending more time outside of class than you have in previous math courses. Completing all Classwork and Homework is crucial!
Classroom Etiquette: I expect readiness, responsibility, and respectfulness. There is a time to work quietly and work in groups. These are the classroom rules.
READY:
RESPONSIBLE:
RESPECTFUL:
Out of Classroom Experiences: Plan to use the restroom and get water before coming to class. Have your homework and supplies. If it is an emergency, you will need to get permission, sign out, and take the e-hall pass. An absence of longer than 5 minutes is considered skipping (and will be dealt with accordingly).
Food and Drink: You may not bring food or drink to class. Please be respectful of your classmates’ allergies.
Bags & Personal Items: All bags and other personal items must remain underneath your desk. There should never be items blocking a walkway between desks.
