What is Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) ?
Watch DOGS is a national volunteer program for fathers. It runs every Thursday and Friday at Rosa Lee Carter from 7:30 am until 2:35 pm. Volunteering with the Watch DOGS initiative provides an enriching and enjoyable experience for dads and students through volunteering in their own child's classroom, as well as other areas of the school. Watch DOGS may include fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures.
What are the goals of a Watch D.O.G.S. program?
1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
