Treble Chorus
The Treble Chorus at Riverside is comprised of mostly freshman, sophomores and other developing choral singers. This will typically be sopranos and altos in the 9th and 10th grade but it can include up to 12th grade. In this group, we work to develop healthy vocal technique, basic sight reading skills, and vocal part independence. Throughout the year, the Treble Chorus may collaborate with the Bass Chorus to begin singing a mixed repertoire.
Bass Chorus
The Bass Chorus at Riverside is comprised of developing tenor and bass voices. Typically, this will be singers in the 9th and 10th grade but can include up to the 12th. In this group, we work to develop healthy vocal technique, sight reading skills, and vocal part independence. Throughout the year, the Bass Chorus may collaborate with the Treble Chorus to begin singing a mixed repertoire.
Select Treble
Select Treble is an auditioned ensemble comprised of advanced treble singers in the 9th through 12th grade. This group will sing consistently in three or more parts, SSAA depending on the size and abilities of the ensemble. On occasion, they may learn pieces in conjunction with the Treble Chorus to create a larger performing ensemble. Students must be advanced sight readers to be in this group and be able to hold their own part in a quartet.
'Side Singers
'Side Singers is the advanced mixed ensemble at Riverside. This group has all four voice parts: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. Typically this group will sing in 4 parts but can truly sing in up to 8 vocal parts depending on the piece. Students must be advanced sight readers to be in this group and be able to hold their own part in a quartet or octet.
