Hey there! My name is Brendan Sweeney, and I am a senior at Riverside. I am the sales manager in the Writing Center and the promotional manager in the Writing Center Club. I’ve always had a love for English, especially for the writing process and telling stories. I specialize in creative writing, argumentative essays, and personal narratives as well as spelling and grammar. When I am not writing, you can find me running, listening to music, or hanging out with friends. I can’t wait to work with you at the RAMS Writing Center!

Hello, I am Alex Russell, and I am in my senior year of high school. I joined the RAMS Writing Center last year, and I hope to continue helping customers. Some of my hobbies are playing video games, relaxing outside, hiking, photography, and baking. I’ve always liked to write, as I remember writing little stories when I was a kid. I am good at brainstorming, editing, figurative language, and argumentative essays. My role this year is a website manager. I hope to help more people with writing this year!

Hi there! I’m Laney Larson, and I am a senior this year at Riverside. I joined the Writing Center this year because I wanted to help fellow students improve their writing before I graduate. I serve as one of the Creative Specialists with the RWC. My favorite forms of writing are on the more artistic side, but I also enjoy writing academic papers. Hi, my name is Izzie, and I’m a sophomore at RVHS! I joined the Writing Center because writing has always been one of my biggest passions, and I love helping others with their writing. I find the art of writing and literature absolutely fascinating, which is why I am eager to share my skills in the RAMS Writing Center! Hello, I am Ala Ahmado and I am a senior this year in Riverside High School. Writing is just about everything I do as an aspiring author, so I joined the Writing Center as a coach and Creative Specialist to continue my hobby in school outside of English class. Though I favour creative writing, I also specialise in persuasive and argumentative essays and personal narratives. I can also help with hooks and thesis statements. In regards to creative writing, I enjoy all kinds, though historical and fantasy are my favourites. In the especially rare case in which I am not writing, I am brushing up on history and likely reading a historical book.

Hey there!  I’m Graham Twambly. I am a junior here at Riverside and this is my first year coaching in the writing center. As the CFO, I am in charge of fundraising and managing the RWC’s funds. I’ve been inspired to improve my writing style by renowned authors like Frank Herbert and J.R.R. Tolkien. Getting lost in their masterfully written fantasy worlds is what sparked my interest in writing, and I decided to join the Writing Center to help others hone their writing skills and improve their own styles. I specialize in writing style, organization, and analysis. Besides writing, I play guitar, I like programming, and I love listening to music. I am interested in computer science and geography. I’m also a member of the FBLA club and the German club. I look forward to working with you!

Hiya! My name is Aaron Carvajal, and I’m a junior here at Riverside High School. This is my second year at the RWC, and I am the center’s Chief Operations Manager. My love for writing first began with a daily journal in elementary school. Since then, I’ve honed my writing skills and have learned plenty about the process.  Hi! I’m Maya Zrajevsky, and I am a sophomore at Riverside High school. This is my first year working at the writing center as both a writing coach and Communications Manager. My passion for writing began in elementary school when I was inspired by a book series, leading me to write my own stories. I spent my freshman year honing my writing skills in debate by constructing strong, persuasive arguments to win against my opponents. Hi! My name is Grace, and I’m a senior at Riverside. I’m an executive assistant in the Writing Center and the operations manager for the Writing Center Club. I loved creative writing when I was younger, but recently, I’ve developed a greater appreciation for nonfiction writing. When I’m not writing, I love reading–especially literary fiction and nonfiction–and playing tennis. I’ll place an emphasis on sentence and paragraph structure, main idea, and overall effectiveness.
