PTSO/Mittal Senior Resiliency Scholarship
The PTSO is offering senior scholarships to eligible applicants from the generous donation of the Mittal family. These scholarships may be awarded to seniors who have overcome challenges and obstacles and plan on furthering their higher learning. We encourage all students who meet the criteria to apply. Application criteria and requirements are outlined below. This award acknowledges student academic achievement, school/community involvement, character, and integrity. Your completed application and essay represent your best efforts in the application process. Please plan accordingly, pay attention to detail and be advised of the April 14, 2023 deadline.

Award Details:
Two $1,000 scholarships may be awarded to eligible PFHS Seniors who plan to continue their education at institutions of higher learning, i.e., universities, colleges, trade and vocational schools. Senior PFHS students who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. All scholarships will be paid by the PTSO directly to the student. Award recipients will receive notification from the PTSO which will provide the list of recipient names to PFHS administration.
Award Eligibility:
PFHS student/family does not have to be a member of the PTSO to apply to this scholarship.
No minimum GPA is required.
Student must plan to continue their education at institutions of higher learning, i.e., universities, colleges, trade and vocational schools.
Student must obtain one letter of recommendation from a staff member who is aware of the obstacles you are working on, or have worked on, to reach your goal of continuing in higher education. Have the staff member write the letter, put it in a regular envelope, seal the envelope then sign over the seal. Include the letter in your application envelope.
Student must submit completed application to include application sheet, school and community activities pages, essay response and one staff member letter of recommendation.
Application Requirements:
Application must be typed with all areas on the application form completed.
Completed forms should be submitted in an envelope with your name and PTSO/Mittal Scholarship written on the front to the PFHS Career Center not later than 4:00PM on April 14, 2023.
Judging Criteria:
Neatness and following directions will be taken into consideration in all scoring. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All applicants will be reviewed in a blind process with any names/identifying information removed from the application pages. A tracking number will be assigned to each application. The Mittal Family reviews the applications based on eligibility, essay response and staff recommendations to make the selection of awards for these scholarships.
