About Mrs. Huson

Mrs. Huson was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but her family moved to the Northern Virginia area when she was very young. She attended McLean High School in Fairfax County where she spent all four years rowing for the school's crew team. She then attended West Virginia University and received her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Spanish.

After graduating from college, Mrs. Huson moved back to St. Louis to be closer with her extended family. She attended University of Missouri - St. Louis to pursue her Masters in Secondary Education, while simultaneously working in several gyms teaching fitness and Zumba classes. After receiving her M.Ed, Mrs. Huson taught 11th grade American Literature for two years, and 8th grade Language Arts for 1 year. In 2014, she realized how much she missed the Northern Virginia area, so she moved back and began teaching 6th grade English at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School.

In her free time, Mrs. Huson enjoys reading, baking, traveling, listening to podcasts, and spending time with her family and friends! She and her husband have a one-year-old daughter and are expecting their second child in March 2020!
