Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Coprs (NJROTC)

The mission of the NJROTC program is to instill in students the ideals of Leadership, Character, Honor, and Service as the foundation for success in life.

  • The program's focus on order, precision, self-discipline, respect for authority, ethical behavior, patriotism, service, and citizenship is designed to prepare students for success in life, regardless of their future plans

  • The program is led by Captain Bill Johns (USN, retired), Master Chief Deanna Foust, (USN, retired), and Gunnery Sergeant Dennis Gaitens (USMC, retired)

  • The NJROTC application process is open to students in Grade 8 (who are not zoned to attend Loudoun County High School) and requires a four-year commitment

  • The NJROTC program is only offered at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, VA

Current 8th Grade students who are interested in the NJROTC program at Loudoun County High School (that starts in the 2022-2023 school year) must express their interest in at https://webinter.lcps.org/njrotc by Friday, January 28, 2022.

Timeline

November 29, 2021: The NJROTC application will open at https://webinter.lcps.org/njrotc.

January 28, 2022: The NJROTC application will close.

February 18, 2022: NJROTC applicants will be notified if they are selected for an interview or deferred to a waitlist.

February 18, 2022, through March 14, 2022: Loudoun County High School will notify students who were selected for an interview the date and time of their interview. The interview will be in-person and held at Loudoun County High School. The school will select the date and time and notify families.

April 1, 2022: Loudoun County High School will contact students who are accepted or deferred in the NJROTC program.
