Career Switcher Programming

The goal of Troops to Teachers (TTT) Virginia Center is to assist military service members and veterans with the process of becoming a teacher. We recognize that it can be overwhelming to look at all of the different routes for becoming licensed to teach in Virginia, and we want to make the process as simple as possible for veterans and service members. In addition, TTT can assist with writing a resume, preparing for an interview, connecting with other service members and teachers, and taking advantage of possible financial incentives. All of our services are offered at no cost to our participants. Our sole purpose is to help make the transition from the military to teaching a positive one!

LCPS currently employs a number of military veterans, and we thank them for their commitment to country and classroom.

Virginia Community College’s, Educate VA, Career Switcher program is offered at 10 separate locations throughout the state, offering endorsements in the critical shortage areas at the secondary level. Educate VA boasts about their flexible class schedule offerings and faculty support during the first year of teaching.
