I came to Indy in 2021 from Annandale HS in Fairfax County. Before becoming a teacher-librarian, I was a high school Social Science teacher for 10 years, with a focus on World History, Government, and Geography, and an IB Middle Years Program Coordinator for 3 years where I focused on project based learning and collaboration. In 2017, I started my Masters of Education in School Librarianship at Old Dominion University, and in 2021 decided to make the jump from classroom teaching to the school library.
Outside of school, I love to hang out with my husband and my cat, Thor. I am also a distance runner and love live music and theatre.
I love to read books that make me cry, as well as Sci Fi and Fantasy adventures. I can't wait to see you in the library!
I’m thrilled to begin my first year with the Indy family! Before stepping into the role of teacher-librarian, I spent 19 wonderful years teaching middle school Communications, English Language Arts, and Reading Strategies in Loudoun County. I hold a master’s degree in School Leadership and earned my Library Media certification from Marshall University in 2021.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our three children. Whenever we get the chance, we head back to my hometown on the Jersey Shore to enjoy delicious pizza and relaxing days with books on the beach.
My favorite books are thrillers and mysteries. I can't wait to share my love of reading with all of you!
