Stylus

What kind of stylus can I use?

The student Chromebook is a capacitive screen. That means only your finger or a special stylus will work on it. There are two types of capacitive styluses.

  • A passive capacitive stylus has a soft tip a little smaller than a pencil eraser. This type of stylus does not need a battery to activate the touchscreen.

  • An active capacitive stylus has a firmer and smaller tip like a ballpoint pen. This type of stylus has a battery that must be changed from time to time, depending upon usage.

We'd suggest a simple passive capacitive stylus, like this one from Amazon. This is the type of cheap stylus you can often find in stores.
