LCPS Technology Support Center
Technical Support
For how-to or instructional technology questions, we recommend starting with the child's teacher. The Department of Digital Innovation has assigned an on-site Digital Experience Specialist (DES) to each school to assist with technical challenges encountered by staff and students. Horizon's DES is Cheryl Brechbill
All staff and students receive tech support from the on-site DES typically by notifying their teacher who will submit a Support Center incident requesting assistance. Families can also call the Technology Support Center (TSC) at (571) 252-2112, M-F 7:30-5:00, or email supportcenter@lcps.org. For hardware related issues, a student may be issued a loaner device while their Chromebook is being repaired.
Replacement Items for Chromebooks
Students in need of replacement items for their Chromebooks (i.e., chargers) may do so through the DDI Technology Store by visiting https://bit.ly/MySchoolBucks. Please see this flyer for technology purchasing instructions. NOTE: This is only for lost chargers. Broken adapters will still be replaced through the normal process via the TSC.
Student Device Distribution & Collection
Students un-enrolling from LCPS are required to return their device and charger to the school before they leave.
All students with an assigned computer (PreK-11th grade) planning to return to LCPS next year will maintain possession of their assigned computer over the summer break to be used for summer learning programs or securely stored in preparation for the next school year. DDI created this handout to answer questions about how to care for your computer over the summer.
All rising 3rd and 6th graders will receive new devices and chargers in the Fall, so they should remove all personal stickers placed directly on their device prior to the beginning of the school year and be prepared to bring in their charger.
