My name is Christina Unger and I am thrilled to be one of your librarians at Goshen Post Elementary! Reading is my ultimate passion, second only to teaching and working with your amazing children. I know how vital it is to foster a love of reading at a young age, and my top priority this year is to build strong relationships with our students and staff so we can create a vibrant community of readers together.
I am proud to say this will be my 24th year teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools, and I was lucky enough to be part of the original opening staff right here at Goshen Post! Before stepping into the library, I spent years as a 1st and 3rd-grade classroom teacher.
My Qualifications:
B.S. in Family and Child Development (Virginia Tech)
Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction (Virginia Tech)
Certifications: Reading Specialist & Library Media Specialist
Loudoun County has been my home for 24 years. I live in Ashburn with my husband, our two wonderful daughters (who are also LCPS students!), and our feisty dog, Patty. When I’m not running around with my kids, you can usually find me curled up with a great new book or working on a knitting project.
I can’t wait to dive into a fantastic year of reading with your children!

My name is Alexandra Fernandez, and I am the Library Assistant here at Goshen Post. I am originally from upstate New York, but I have lived in Virginia for over 25 years. I have a bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher University and a master's in education from George Mason University. I have worked in the history field as a teacher and as a museum professional. My husband and I are the proud parents of three beautiful children (now young adults) Olivia, Daniel, and Isabel. I enjoy painting, cooking, and visiting historical sites.
Hello! My name is Kristin Vercammen and this is my 20th year in education. I will be the itinerant librarian at Goshen. I have previously taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I am so excited to transition from the classroom to the library this year! I grew up in Michigan. I earned my bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and my master's degree from Marygrove College. I recently went back to school to earn my library endorsement through UVA Wise.
In my spare time I love reading. I also love to watch football, especially my Detroit Lions play. I enjoy shopping and cooking, as well. I also love to create fun and engaging lessons for students.
I look forward to working with the students and staff at GPE!
