Welcome Goshen Gator families! My name is Mrs. Unger and I am thrilled to be here at Goshen Post Elementary as your librarian! Reading is my passion, second only to teaching and working with children. I know how important it is to build a love of reading at a young age. I will make it my priority to establish strong relationships with the children and staff here at Goshen Post so that we can build a strong community of readers together.
This year will be my 23rd year teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools. I was lucky enough to be a part of the opening staff here at Goshen Post. Before that, I was a classroom teacher in the first and third grades. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Child Development and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech. Additionally, I was also able to complete my Reading Specialist and Library Media Specialist certifications. Loudoun County has been my home for the last 23 years. I currently live in Ashburn with my husband and two wonderful daughters, who are students here in Loudoun County. Our family also includes our feisty dog, Patty. When I am not running around with my kids, I am curled up with a new book, or completing a knitting project.

My name is Alexandra Fernandez, and I am the Library Assistant here at Goshen Post. I am originally from upstate New York, but I have lived in Virginia for over 25 years. I have a bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher University and a master's in education from George Mason University. I have worked in the history field as a teacher and as a museum professional. My husband and I are the proud parents of three beautiful children (now young adults) Olivia, Daniel, and Isabel. I enjoy painting, cooking, and visiting historical sites.
Hello! My name is Kristin Vercammen and this is my 20th year in education. I will be the itinerant librarian at Goshen. I have previously taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I am so excited to transition from the classroom to the library this year! I grew up in Michigan. I earned my bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and my master's degree from Marygrove College. I recently went back to school to earn my library endorsement through UVA Wise.
In my spare time I love reading. I also love to watch football, especially my Detroit Lions play. I enjoy shopping and cooking, as well. I also love to create fun and engaging lessons for students.
I look forward to working with the students and staff at GPE!
