Class Information

Band 6 – Beginning Band: Band 6 is a co-curricular ensemble. Most of our meetings occur during the regular school day, and students receive a grade. Band 6 students have a few additional after school rehearsals and performances for our Winter and Spring Concerts. Band 6 is open to all 6th grade students, regardless of prior experience in music.

Band 7 – Intermediate Band: Band 7 is a co-curricular ensemble. Like beginning Band, most of our meetings occur during the regular school day, and students receive a grade. Band 7 students have a few additional after school rehearsals and performances for our Winter and Spring Concerts. Students in Band 7 will also take part in the VBODA District Band Assessment. Band 7 is open to all 7th grade students who have at least one year of band experience.

Band 8 – Advanced Band: Band 8 is a co-curricular ensemble. Advanced Band students receive a grade and meet during the school day. There are several after school events for Advanced Band students, including Winter & Spring Concerts, along with special events such as field trips to BRH for 8th Grade Night, Combined Concerts, our Assessment Performance, and our annual Hershey Park Trip in June (please see the field trip section of the handbook for more information). The Advanced Band is open to students in 8th grade who have at least 2 years of playing experience or students or who pass an audition.
