VALLSS (VIRGINIA LANGUAGE & LITERACY SCREENING SYSTEM) is given to your child three times throughout the school year in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to assess your child's literacy skills. The VALLSS gives a snapshot of students' critical literacy skills at a single moment in time, identifies students at risk for developing reading difficulties, and provides instructionally-useful information to target instruction.
