Driving Directions

Below are the driving directions to away LCMS and LCHS events.  Scroll the alphabetical list for others. Please consider that some of the directions may be slightly inaccurate due to road construction, new lights, etc.  If you are unsure, please call the school where the away event is being held.


Albemarle High School :   I-64 to exit 124 and turn right onto 250 Bypass West.  Turn right onto Hydraulic Road (this is the exit just before Rt. 29).  Stay on Hydraulic for a couple of miles, and school will be on left.Appomatix High School :   From I-64 West exit onto Hwy. 15 South.  Just past Dillwith, turn right onto Hwy. 60 West toward Buckingham.  Veer left onto Hwy. 24 West.  Take 460 Bypass East.  Exit onto 460 Business and follow signs to Appomatix High School .  (You will turn left at the rescue squad building and right a mile or so down the road.)


Bluestone High School:   I-64 west to Rt. 15  south to Rt. 47  south toward Chase City .  (Watch for 47 to turn right at an intersection with Woods Funeral Home on the corner.)  Go in to Chase City through two stop lights.  Take Rt. 92 south for 1/2 mile to Skipwith Rd. (Rt. 688) turn right.  School is approximately 7 miles on right.


Brentsville High School:   Rt. 522 north toward Culpeper, 29 north toward D.C., Rt. 28 north toward Manassas .  About 16 miles, turn right onto the road toward Nokesville (at stop light - 7 Eleven on corner).  Go through the town to the stop sign where the road dead-ends and school is off to the right.


Broadway High School :   I-64 west to I-81 north.  Exit  257 Broadway/Mauzy/Timberville).  Left at stop sign, right at traffic light onto Rt. 259 W - go 6 miles and turn onto Daphna Rd.   When road splits, stay to the right on Springbrook Rd.   School is on the right.  (Take 3rd entrance and go behind school.)  (App. 2 1/2 hours)


Caroline High and Middle Schools:   Rt. 522 to Rt. 208 past Spotsylvania H. S.  When 208 turns off to the left, stay straight to Thornburg.  Turn right onto Hwy. 1, then turn left onto Rt. 639 at Lady Smith.  At the end of the road, turn right onto Roger's Clark Blvd. (Rt. 207).  Schools will be on the left approximately 1/2 mile.


Cedar Lee Middle School :   Rt. 522 north to Culpepper - Rt. 29 north to Rt. 28.  Turn right on Rt. 28 and go 2-3 miles - turn right on Rt. 17 south.  School is on right 1/4 mile.


Chancellor High School:   Rt. 522 to Rt. 208 towards Fredericksburg .  Turn left on Levels Road (at McDonalds) and go about 3 miles.  Turn left at light (it is past the soccer fields and at a wide spot in the road - there is a sign pointing toward the school).  Chancellor High School is about a mile up on the left.


Charlottesville High School:   I-64 to Charlottesville .  Exit 124 at Shadwell and turn right.  Exit onto Park St. from 250 bypass and turn to right.  About 1/2 mile, turn left onto Melbourne Dr. (in a big curve and there is a sign to CHS)  School will be on the left, and the soccer field is on the right before the school.


Chickahominy Middle School:   Take I-64 East toward Richmond , then I-295.  Take exit 41A, and go north on Hwy. 301.  Turn left at first light ( Atlee Station Road ).  School is on the right about a mile.


Courtland High School:   Rt. 522 to Dickerson Store, then Rt. 208 (beyond Spotsylvania High School) towards Fredericksburg .  Courtland High School will be on the right about 4-5 miles beyond Spotsylvania Courthouse.  It is behind the Hardee's and Food Lion shopping center and there is a green road sign at the road.


Culpeper:   Rt. 522 toward Culpeper and turn left onto Rt. 3 (which is still Rt. 522).  Just before 2nd light, veer off to the right onto 29 Business.  Get onto Rt. 229 from the left lane.  (Rt. 29 will actually curve around to the right, and 229 goes straight.)  Turn right onto Achievement Drive .  School is on left.


Floyd T. Binns Middle School :   Rt. 522 toward Culpeper and turn left onto Rt. 3 (which is still Rt. 522).  Just before 2nd light, veer off to the right onto 29 Business.  Get onto Rt. 229 from the left lane.  (Rt. 29 will actually curve around to the right, and 229 goes straight.)  School is on the top of the hill on the right.


Fluvanna High School :   I-64 west to Zions Crossroads exit and turn left on Rt. 15.  About 2 1/2 miles south of Palmyra , turn right on Rt. 649 - school is on the right.  (also middle school sports except football)


Fluvanna Middle School :   I-64 west to Zions Crossroads exit and turn left on Rt. 15.  About 3 miles south of Palmyra, Fluvanna Middle School is on the left.  (football for middle school)  (I was told that all middle school events are at the middle school, but just in case.....the entrance to the high school turns off to the right as you come out of Palmyra and before you get to the middle school.  Watch for the little green road sign.)


Fort Defiance :   I-64 West  to I-81 North.  Turn left at Vernon exit and right onto Rt. 11.  School is about 3-4 miles on left.


Fork Union:   I-64 West to Rt. 15 south.  Fork Union Military Academy will be on the left, about 16 miles from the intersection of Rt. 15 and Rt. 250 at Zion 's Crossroads.


Fuqua Middle School :  I-64 west to Rt. 15 south.  Take Rt. 460 east.  Exit off 460 at Hampton-Sidney/Longwood and turn left on 15 toward Longwood.  Turn right onto Putney Street by McDonalds.  Turn right at "T" in the road.  School is on the left.  Take 2nd left to baseball field.


Goochland High School :   Rt. 522 South past interstate entrance, toward Goochland.  Turn right onto Rt. 724, Bulldog Way (there will be a right turn lane 1-2 miles past Sandy Hook).  This road leads to the back of the school and the athletic fields.  (Baseball for Goochland Middle School is played at the old high school which is on 522 in town.  Also, directions to Hidden Rock Park in case they are needed for baseball.  As you get into Goochland, turn left onto Fairground Road just past Southern States.  About a mile down the road, take a left to Landfill (there is a sign).  Hidden Rock Park is at the end of the road.)


Greensville High School :   I-64 east to I-95 south.  Take exit 8, turn left onto Rt. 301, and left at first light.  Go two blocks and left onto Peach Tree St .  School is second block on the right.


Harrisonburg H. S.:   33 west to Harrisonburg .  Turn left onto Cantrell (first left after crossing interstate).  Road ends at a light - go straight into the high school parking lot. (Or take I-64 west to  I-81 north and take exit 247B onto 33 west.  Then follow above directions - left onto Cantrell...etc.)

Hermitage High School:   I-64 East to Richmond , take the Parham exit and turn left.  About 2 miles down the road (around the 2nd light after crossing Broad Street ), turn left onto Hungry Spring Road .  School is about 1 1/2 blocks on the right.


Heritage High School:   I-64 west to Charlottesville and Rt. 29 south to Lynchburg .  Rt. 29 south will veer to the left towards Danville .  The second time this happens, DO NOT FOLLOW.  Stay in the right lane and the road becomes 501.  Go a couple of miles and take the 2nd 460 exit (460 west).  Turn left at 3rd light.  School on left (take 2nd entrance - Activities).


James Monroe H. S.:   Rt. 522 to Rt. 208 to Fredericksburg .  At Four Mile Fork area, turn left onto Rt. 1.  School is on right about 6-8 miles, just past Mary Washington College (turn right onto Fall Hill Ave. )  (Soccer and football are played at a different location in town.  Left on Rt. 1, right on Rt. 3 east.  Follow business Rt. 3 (business) toward downtown.  Go about a mile and turn right onto Kenmore.  Field is on the left.) (middle school basketball games are played here)


James Wood High School:   Take Rt. 522 through town of Winchester .  About 1 mile outside of town, turn right onto Apple Pie Road .  (Seems to take forever to get outside town!)  School is about 1/10 mile on left.


Kate Collins M. S.:   I-64 west to exit 94 at Waynesboro and turn right.  Turn left onto Lew DeWitt Blvd. (at 1st light).  At end of road, turn right onto W. Main St. , then left onto Hopeman Parkway (at 2nd light).  Turn right onto Ivy (at 1st light) and school will be on the left.


King George:   Rt. 522 to Rt. 208 to Fredericksburg .  Left on Rt. 1, right on Rt. 3 east and follow the by-pass.  Right on Rt. 3 east toward King George.  High school is on the left about 16 miles and the middle school is behind.  (Soccer and football is played at a different field.  Turn right at Rt. 678 about 1/2 mile past the high school.  Field is on the right about 1/2 mile at the school board offices.)


L. C. Bird:   I-64 east to I-95 south to Rt. 288 to the second Rt. 10 exit.  Turn right onto Courthouse Road at the light.  School will be down this road on the left.  Park in the main parking lot next to the staduim.


Locust Grove Middle School :   Rt. 522 North to the intersection with Rt. 20.  Turn right onto Rt. 20.  School is 8 miles on the right.  (Softball field is next door behind the elementary school.)


Locust Grove Middle School (baseball):   Rt. 522 North to the intersection with Rt. 20.  Turn right onto Rt. 20.  In 4 miles, turn right onto Rt. 621 and go 4 miles.  Mine Run Fire Department is on the left, and the baseball field is there.


Manchester High School:   I-64 east toward Richmond and exit onto 288 South.  Take the Hull Street/Richmond exit onto Hull Street heading East.  Look for Dairy Queen and Goodwill at the 3rd light and turn right onto Bailey Bridge Road .  School is about a mile on left.


Marshall Middle School :   Rt. 522 north to Culpepper.  Rt. 29 north to Warrington and take the business by-pass through Warrington .  Left on Rt. 17 north about 10-12 miles.  Right on Rt. 709 for 2-3 miles.  Marshall Middle School will be the second school on the left.


Massannetta Springs:   33W towards Harrisonburg .  Left turn (at Masseneta Springs sign), between Massanutten and Harrisonburg .  Course is on right about a mile.


Massaponax:   Rt. 522 to Rt. 208 toward Fredericksburg, past Spotsylvania Hish School .  Rt. 208 will turn off at an intersection, but you need to continue straight to the intersection with Rt. 1, then turn left onto Rt. 1.  School is up the road a few miles on the right.


Midlothian High School :  Rt. 522 South towards Powhatan.  Turn left onto Rt. 60.  Turn right (approx. 17 miles) onto Charter Colony Road .  School is on the left.


Monticello :   I-64 into Charlottesville to exit 121 (PVCC exit), and turn left only Hwy 20 S.  Turn right at second light onto Rt. 1150, Mill Creek Dr. (about 1 1/2 miles). School is on right.


Orange Co. High School:   Rt. 22 to Gordonsville, Rt. 15 to Orange, and turn right on Rt. 20 toward Fredericksburg .  Just past Monrovia Road which turns off to the right, there is a road that forks across the side road on the left.  Take that road, to the stop sign and turn left.  School is on the right.  (The School Board faces Rt. 20 and the high school is behind that.)


Orange Co. (for soccer and football):   From Louisa, take Rt. 33 West to Gordonsville.  Turn right at the traffic circle onto Rt. 15 to Orange .  Rt. 15 turns off, but stay straight to stop sign ("T" in road.)  Turn left onto Rt. 20 toward Charlottesville , then turn immediately to the right. Porter Field is on left about a mile down.


Orange Co. (for soccer and football):   (From school) Rt. 522 to Rt. 20 at red light (about 15 miles).  Turn left to Orange .  At 2nd light ("T" in road) turn right onto Rt. 15.  Rt. 15 turns off, but stay straight to stop sign ("T" in road.)  Turn left which is Rt. 20 toward Charlottesville .  Take first right.  Porter Field is on left about a mile down.


Orange Co. (for Cross Country):   Rt. 33 west through circle at Gordonsville.  Just past circle turn right onto 231 north for 5-6 miles.  At intersection turn right onto Rt. 20 north for about 5 miles to Montpelier - Home of James Madison.  Report to the Visitor's Center and a teacher at the gate will let you in


Powhatan High School :   Rt. 522 south to Powhatan.  Left on Rt. 13 (1 mile past crossing Rt. 60).  School is on the right 3/4 of a mile.


Prospect Heights M. S.:   Rt. 33 west to Gordonsville.  Turn right on Rt. 15 north to Orange .  Prospect Heights Middle School is on the left after first light coming into Orange .  (all middle school athletic events except track and field)


Robert Aylor M. S.:   Rt. 522 to Front Royal, pass by "Dinosaur Land", take a left and go straight to Stevens City at Texaco and take a right.  School is on right 1/4 of a mile.


Rockbridge High School :   I-64 West to I-81 South to I-64 West.  Take exit 55 (the first exit) and turn left at stop sign.  Turn right at first light.  School is on the left.


Saint Anne's Belfield School :   I-64 West to exit 118B.  Follow U.S. 250 By-Pass west 2.5 miles to U.S. 250 Business.  For the Lower Campus (baseball field), turn left at the top of the ramp and take the next right, turn right again onto Old Ivy Road, and take the first left onto Faulconer Drive. Follow the signs to the Lower School campus.  To reach the Middle and Upper Schools , turn right at the top of the ramp, follow U.S. 250 Business 0.8 mile, through the stoplight, and the Upper Campus is on the right.


Spotsylvania H. S.:   Rt. 522 North to Rt. 208 toward Fredericksburg .  School is on right past the stop sign at Post Oak.


Stonewall Jackson High School :   Rt. 522 to Culpeper.  Turn right onto 29 N., then right onto 28 N. to Manassas .  In about 22 miles and just past the overpasses, turn left onto Godwin Dr. toward George Mason University .  About a mile, turn left onto Wellington Rd. (just before railraod crossing), the turn right at Rixlew Ln.   School is on left.


Thomas Harrison M. S.:   33W to Harrisonburg .  Turn left onto Cantrell Ave. (first left after crossing interstate) to Harrisonburg H.S.  Turn right in front of high school onto South High St .  Turn left onto Market St. at light.  School is on left through 2 lights - about a mile.  (Entrance to parking lot is just beyond the school.)


Turner Ashby:   I-64 west to I-81 north to Bridgewater exit and turn left.  Right on Rt. 42.  School will be on the right.


VES in Lynchburg:  29 S to 1st Lynchburg exit (29 S. business), turn right onto Rivermont Avenue .  About a mile past Randolph-Macon Woman's College, turn right onto VES Road .  VES will be on the left about a mile.  Gym is the last building on the left.


Walker Grant Middle School:  Rt. 533 to Rt. 208 to Fredericksburg .  At Four Mile Fork area, turn left onto Rt. 1.  School is on right about 1 1/2 miles.  There is a sign and the road name is Learning Lane .  (this is the middle school associated with JM in case games are not at JM)


Waynesboro High School:   (also for middle school football)  I-64 to exit 94 at Waynesboro and turn right.  Turn right onto W. Main St. (3rd light).  School is on right, just beyond the next light.  Football field is behind the school.

Western Albemarle High School :   I-64 West to Crozet exit and turn right.  School is about a mile or so on the right.


William Monroe Middle and High Schools:   Rt. 33 W through Ruckersville to Stanardsville.  At the caution light, turn right onto Rt. 622.  School is on left about 500 yards and most events take place at the high school.

Woodberry Forest:   Rt. 33 W. to Gordonsville then Rt. 15 N. through Orange .  Entrance to school is on the right, at top of hill past long concrete bridge at Madison Mills (about 4 miles town).
