Procedures when you are with a class:
Leave your bags and drinks in your classroom; please-allow time to return to your class and get them.
Sanitize your hands when coming into the library.
Put the book you are turning in on the cart. Keep your book if you are not finished with it (you will recheck it).
Have a seat at the tables in the middle of the library.
Mrs. Laws will go over a few things with you.
Push in your chairs when you look for books or leave for class.
Look for a great book!
If you pull a book out you are not interested in, please place it on top of the bookshelves and we will re-shelve it.
If you have any questions, Mrs. Laws or Mrs. Webb/Mrs. Smith will be glad to help you.
Check out your books at the checkout counter with your id.

Library Procedures when you come independently
Make sure your teacher has created an e-hallpass.
Turn in your book to the circulation desk.
Have a teacher or library aide/assistant sign you in on e-hallpass at the circulation desk.
Look for a book!
Check out your book(s) at the checkout counter with your id.
Make sure the library aid/assistant "returns" you on your E-hallpass before you leave.
Laws of the Library
Keep your book in a safe place to avoid tears, spills, bent pages… (gallon sized ziplock baggies or plastic zipper bags are great!)
Walk in the library, please.
Respect others (other students may be working on projects, testing, and of course… reading)
Respect the furniture (sit on the seats- 1 person to each seat and keep your feet off the furniture. Do not move furniture.)
Bring your id each time you come to the library.
Make sure your teacher has made and accepted an e-hallpass prior to you coming to the library.
1 book checkout limit unless you have any overdue/lost books. If you come in frequently, you will be allowed to have 2 books.
Holds can be placed on the Destiny Discover website once you sign in.
You can check your book status/history in Destiny Discover.
Please do not bring food or drinks or bags into the library.

Fiction (Organized By Genre) wall and middle shelves
Story Collections (SC) and Graphic Novels (GN) by Fiction on the wall
Everyday books (E) tall single bookshelf by the windows.
Research station-Destiny Discover, Sora and TexQuest
Soft seating- casual reading; this seating will be determined by your RLA teacher when you come as a class
Work stations- small group, independent work, makerspace/workstation
New Book/Displayed books- Monthly displays-you can check these out!
Voice Level- Should be between a 0-2.
0- when you are listening to instructions or independent reading
1- when you are in the work station area or sharing information about your reading
2- when completing a mini-lesson activity or answering a question
