The Purpose: The purpose of this technique is to create support for a Hip Flexor.
The Materials:
4 or 6 inch Compression Wrap
2 inch powerflex
The Positioning: The Athlete should be standing in front of you with the thigh in external rotation and in slight knee flexion. (Heel of foot can be placed on a 1.5 inch tape roll)
The Application:
Using a double 4” or 6” wrap, begin at the thigh pull medial to lateral (hip flexor), and work toward the hip.
When the height of the wrap is just below the hip, go around the body and pull up and out when you get to the groin.
The key is to pull up and out with your wrap.
Continue around the leg, and body until wrap ends.
End the wrap around the leg.
Secure the wrap with 2 inch powerflex.
