All boys & girls who are an incoming or current student of LCHS may tryout for the cheerleading team. The team only requires a positive attitude, determination, and putting "lead" in cheerLEADer. LCHS cheer may not be recognized as a sport, but it is to be treated as such in regards to as attending all practices and all events, and ensuring that you are giving 110% at all times. Tryouts consist of a week of clinics where those trying out work in groups and individually to learn a group cheer, an on the spot sideline, Lincoln, Lincoln, and an 8-count dance. Tryouts will be judged by former cheerleaders and those who have outside experience with cheer which may involve tumbling instruction or coaching experience. All those trying out will be judged and based on scores will be placed on the team. All decisions are final.
Here you will find a copy of the Tryout Packet. This packet is very important because it contains important information. This packet also gives you a look into what is expected at clinics, such as important dates for the physical fitness test and Lincoln, Lincoln judging. This packet also consists of the rules that are to be followed by all team members for the duration of their season. By signing these rules you agree to obey and follow all rules.
Each student trying out for cheer needs to have ONE teacher complete this form (found in the tryout packet) and have it by the first day of clinics, or for incoming freshmen you may have your teacher email or send evaluation in a sealed envelope.

Words to Lincoln, Lincoln! Must be able to "sing" the words in a time of need, and for tryouts you need to know the words. This is the staple of Railer Cheer, so, it is a required item to make the team. The school song is a staple of LCHS Cheer and is a requirement for all members.
