Uniforms at LCCS serve several important purposes:

Focus on Identity: Uniforms shift the focus from external appearance to inner character. We believe our identity is not defined by clothing or possessions, but by our relationship with Christ and the purpose He has called us to fulfill. Student uniforms serve as a daily reminder of this truth.
Safety and Security: Uniforms make it quick and easy to identify members of the LCCS community, contributing to a safer campus environment.
Comfort and Convenience: The Uniform Dress Code upholds these core principles while allowing for student comfort and practicality.

Personal Appearance Guidelines

Hair: All students' hair must be clean, well-groomed, and non-distracting. Distracting colors, designs, or accessories (including tinsel and feathers) are not permitted, except on designated dress-up days.
- Boys: Hair must be kept above the eyebrows, may not extend below the middle of the ears, and must not touch the top of the collar. Ponytails and headbands are not permitted.
- Senior Boys: Well-groomed facial hair, including mustaches, sideburns, goatees, and beards, is permitted.
Jewelry & Accessories: Jewelry and accessories should be tasteful and coordinate with the school uniform.
- Piercings: Only female students may have pierced ears. Spacers must be worn for nose piercings.
- Prohibited Items: Sunglasses, caps, hats, visible tattoos, and any form of body art are not permitted.
Makeup: Modest makeup may be worn starting in 5th grade.
Nails: Nails should be of appropriate length and non-distracting.

Uniform Guidelines

Tops

All students must wear navy, red, or white polo shirts at all times. (Must be purchased through Ivy School Uniforms.)
Tops may be worn untucked, but midriffs and underwear must never be exposed.
Undershirts may be worn for modesty.

Outerwear

All outerwear (including sweatshirts) must be worn with a polo.
NEW for 2026–27: Hoodies are not permitted Monday through Thursday. On these days, only the official gray and blue school-branded sweatshirts (available at the Spirit Store) may be worn. All other outerwear must be purchased through Ivy School Uniforms. (See examples in the link below.)
The only exceptions are Spirit Gear Days, when school-approved outerwear may be worn with an LCCS t-shirt underneath.

Bottoms

Boys and Girls: May wear twill-type khaki or navy pants or shorts. Bottoms should not be excessively tight and must not have excessive pockets (no cargo pants or shorts).
- Jogger-Style Pants (Grades 5–12):
  - Acceptable: Twill-type material in khaki or navy.
  - Not Acceptable: Any color other than khaki or navy; fleece material.
  - Note: Joggers that are tight at the ankle and meet the above criteria are acceptable.
Girls Only: May wear LCCS plaid, khaki, or navy skirts, skorts, or jumpers. These must be conservative in style and finger-tip length. Modesty shorts must not be visible. All skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be purchased through Ivy School Uniforms.
Boys Only: Shorts must be finger-tip length and not excessively tight. (See examples in the link below.)

Cold Weather Layering

Students may wear solid-color black, white, red, or navy long-sleeve undershirts under uniform tops.
Girls may wear black, white, red, or navy tights or leggings under skirts, skorts, or jumpers.
Prohibited: Pajama pants, yoga pants, and jeggings are not acceptable as school wear.
Blankets: Students are not permitted to bring or use blankets during the school day in classrooms, hallways, or while traveling between classes. Students should wear appropriate clothing and outerwear for comfort.

Special Dress Days

Wednesday – Optional Chapel Dress (Grades K–4):
- Boys: Khaki shorts or pants, white or blue LCCS monogrammed oxford shirt (tucked in), and a navy, brown, or black belt.
- Girls: LCCS plaid skirt or jumper with a white LCCS monogrammed "Peter Pan"/round-collar blouse.
Friday – Spirit Gear Day:
- Students may wear any official LCCS shirt and hoodie with jeans.
- Jeans must not be excessively tight and must be free of holes or frays.
- Additional Spirit Gear Days may be granted by administration as announced.

Footwear

Students must wear closed-toe, closed-heel shoes at all times.
Athletic shoes with non-marking soles are required for PE and recess.
Prohibited: Slippers, house shoes or shoes resembling them, Crocs, Uggs (NEW for 2026–27), clogs, and shoes with wheels.

Athletic Uniforms (MS & HS)

Middle school and high school students in athletics should refer to the Athletics Handbook for uniform guidelines (see link below).
NEW for 2026–27: All athletic shorts for both middle school and high school must be black.

Dress Code Violations

Students in violation of the dress code will be asked to correct the issue by changing into proper attire or by contacting parents to bring appropriate clothing.
If no uniform change is available, a detention will be issued.
Any LCCS employee may report dress code violations.

Parent Responsibility

Parents are responsible for providing appropriately fitting clothing throughout the school year.
If dress code expectations are not met, administration may require parents to purchase replacement clothing during the school day.
The decisions of the administration are final in all matters related to the dress code.
It is the responsibility of parents to ensure their students comply with the dress code daily.
