Students may bring their lunches each day or purchase a vendor lunch ordered through FACTS SIS. Information pertaining to the vendor lunch program is provided in detail at the beginning of the school year. Students are not allowed in the school kitchen nor are they allowed to use materials or utensils from the kitchen. Saving places and cutting in line are not permitted.
Pre-K through sixth grade students may not purchase A La Carte snack items from the cafeteria. This is a special privilege for grades 7-12. Elementary students may not use the microwave during lunch. Children may not share food. Children need to be able to open all packaging. Sodas are not allowed in the lunchroom.
Birthday cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc. are permitted; but forks, plates, napkins, etc. must also be provided by the student.
Parents, family members and youth ministers are welcome to join their students for lunch. Outside student visitors must have prior permission and be appropriately dressed. All visitors must check in with the main school office to receive a visitor’s badge.
Off-campus Lunch for High School
Senior students are allowed to sign out for lunch and their off-campus period every day of the week (when applicable) with a one-time written consent from their parent. This privilege is based on the expectation that the student will be responsible and return on time for their next class. If students continually return late to class or miss classes after checking out, the privilege will be revoked after 3 tardies or absences per grading period.
Junior students are allowed to sign out for lunch every day of the week (when applicable) with a one-time written consent from their parent. This privilege is based on the expectation that the student will be responsible and return on time for their next class. If students continually return late to class or miss classes after checking out, the privilege will be revoked after 3 tardies or absences per grading period.
Senior and Junior students must sign out when leaving campus for lunch and check in with their next-period teacher upon return.
9th & 10th grade students are only permitted to leave campus for lunch with their parent(s), and must be signed out by their parent(s) in the front office. * The parent must come inside.
Underclassmen can be dropped off at the front entrance or Byers Center after lunch to sign themselves back in. Parent(s) do not need to come in upon the student’s return.
To maintain campus safety and limit disruptions, LCCS does not permit food deliveries from third-party services, including but not limited to DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, etc. Delivery drivers will not be allowed to drop off food, and staff will not accept deliveries from these services under any circumstances.
Food from parents, grandparents, or guardians may be brought to campus and must be dropped off at the appropriate location:
Elementary, Middle, and High School students: Main front desk
Intermediate School students: Byers Reception office
All food will be placed on a cart and transported to the designated cafeteria, where students may retrieve it during lunchtime.
Snacks are provided to our Pre-K and Kinder Prep students twice daily. Students are permitted to bring their own snacks from home. Students should also bring a labeled water bottle.
All kindergarten, elementary and intermediate students are asked to bring a healthy snack each day along with a labeled water bottle.
Food and beverages, beyond water, must be finished and/or put away before moving to classrooms. Vending machines usage is only permitted during lunch for middle school and high school students.
