The National Honor Society at Lake Country Christian School was granted its charter in 1985. Students are invited to become members of the National Honor Society based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Although academic performance is of great importance, membership is based on all four areas. Membership in the NHS is not simply an extension of the Honor Roll. Induction is in the Fall of each year with membership limited to grades 10 - 12. A student must begin the current school year at LCCS to be eligible.
Specific criteria for consideration include:
3.75 or higher GPA on semester grades in academic courses only
Enrollment in at least one AP®, Dual-Credit, or Honors course at LCCS
No major disciplinary offenses during the previous year
If a student meets the above criteria, he/she will be considered for membership by the administration. Student conduct, as it relates to character issues, will be addressed by the administration. The administration may seek input from other sources in their decision-making, including a record of leadership and service activities provided by the student.
Each student member must maintain the standards, attend required meetings, and complete service hours in order to remain an active member. Students who fail to uphold these standards may face probation, loss of privileges, or removal from the National Honor Society.
The Lake Country Christian School National Junior Honor Society was granted its charter in 1986. Induction is in the Spring of each year with membership limited to grades 6 - 9. Students in 6th - 9th grade are invited to become members based on the following qualifications:
3.75 or higher GPA on semester grades in academic courses through grades 6 – 9.
Faculty recommendation: Student conduct, as it relates to character issues, will be addressed.
Each member must maintain the standards and complete service hours in order to remain an active member.
