Students with professionally diagnosed learning differences may apply for accommodations through the Learning Lab. The Learning Lab Coordinator will then review diagnostic reports and verify that the needed accommodations can be met through the Learning Lab. If approved, parents may enroll their students in the Learning Lab for an additional fee. Once enrolled, an Educational Care Plan (ECP) meeting will take place with parents, teachers, a representative of the administration, and the Learning Lab coordinator to document the agreed-upon accommodations.
The student must have documentation on file at school that:
States a specific disability
Is current within the last three years
Provides relevant educational, developmental, and medical history
Includes the detailed results of a battery of educational testing
Describes the specific accommodations requested
Establishes the professional credentials of the evaluator
Addresses other requirements based on an individual student’s circumstances
Must be re-evaluated by an educational diagnostician every three years, unless otherwise noted.
