Students in grades 1-4 with one second semester grade below 70% in Language, Reading, or Math will be passed onto the next grade on a probationary status if they pursue private tutoring or an educational program approved by Lake Country Christian School during the summer. Second semester grades which include two or more averages below 70% in Language, Reading or Math may result in mandatory repetition of a grade or dismissal from Lake Country Christian School.
A student passed to the next grade on probation will be closely monitored during the first grading period of the school year. The possibility exists that a student might be asked to pursue educational diagnostic testing or be dismissed from Lake Country Christian School if the student is unable to complete the new grade’s coursework above 70%.
If a student makes a grade below 70 for the year, the student will be placed on Academic Probation, which may include an academic plan of action. A parent and student conference is required with the administration for establishing an academic plan of action. A middle school student could be placed on Academic Probation for other reasons including, but not limited to, grades on semester exams and consistent academic decline. If a student finishes a subsequent grading period with the previously prescribed academic plan not completed, the student’s continued enrollment at LCCS will be reviewed by the administration and the student may be asked to withdraw from LCCS.
Academic Probation and Extracurricular Ineligibility
Middle School (Grades 7-8)
Students earning a final grade below 70 in any course will be placed on Academic Probation, which may include an academic plan of action. A parent-student conference with the administration is required to develop the plan. Students may also be placed on Academic Probation for other reasons, including but not limited to: failing semester exams or a pattern of academic decline.
Failure to complete the academic plan during the next grading period will result in a review of the student’s continued enrollment at LCCS, and may lead to dismissal.
High School (Grades 9–12)
Students with any grade average below 70 on a report card or progress report will be placed on Academic Probation, which may include an academic plan of action and restrictions, including ineligibility from extracurricular activities. A parent-student conference is required to establish the plan.
Students may also be placed on Academic Probation for:
Failing a semester exam
A pattern of academic decline
While on Academic Probation, students may be restricted from participating in co-curricular activities, including athletics and fine arts. If the academic plan is not completed by the next grading period, continued enrollment will be reviewed, and the student may be asked to withdraw.

GPA below 2.0 for the previous quarter/semester
Cumulative GPA below 2.0
F in any quarter or semester course

Student leaders: Two probation placements per year will result in removal from office.

Probation lasts a minimum of 3 weeks, from Progress Reports to Report Cards..
To be removed from probation, students must:
Raise GPA to 2.0 or higher
Have no failing grades
If a student is failing a different class at the time of reevaluation a new probation period will begin.

4. Extracurricular Ineligibility
To remain eligible for extracurricular participation, students must:
Maintain a 2.0 GPA with no F’s
Be present for at least four class periods on game/performance days (unless excused by the Athletic/Fine Arts Director)
If a student fails any course in a grading period (report card):
They are ineligible for 10 school days, starting the Monday after grades are posted.

While ineligible, students may continue to practice with the team (if permitted by the coach).
Students may not participate in any game or fine arts performance while ineligible.
Students may not travel with the team during the ineligible period.
5. Disciplinary Probation
Students with recurring behavioral issues may be placed on Disciplinary Probation for 1 semester to 12 months.
Any In-School (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) results in one game/performance suspension.
Repeated violations may lead to more severe consequences, including withdrawal or expulsion.
6. Re-Admission After Dismissal
Students dismissed for academic reasons may reapply after 12 months, pending administrative review and approval.
