As an extension of the work of the Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center in Charleston, South Carolina, the Miami Biblical Counseling Center is being developed. We exist to offer biblical counseling and discipleship as well as biblical counselor and discipleship training.  

We practically and persuasively use the wisdom and inspiration that God in Christ speaks in the Word of God through the Spirit of God to reduce suffering, minister transformation of lives, and reconcile relationships. For 20 years, the positive results of this approach have been remarkable. We invite you to view the testimonies.

Because of partnering churches, businesses, and individuals, we turn no one away for lack of funds. We currently have over 25 counselors offering counseling and training to hundreds. 

We offer personalized counseling, discipleship, and encouragement sessions at various office locations in South Florida and the convenience of online. We are also developing biblical counselors, discipleship coaches, and spiritual encouragers in local churches of South Florida. When possible, we involve those in our local counselor program to assist one of our certified counselors in the South Florida counseling sessions.

We have developed a unique counselor mentorship program called Step Up that builds on our interactive foundations course entitled, Change that Sticks. This program and course have been used to change lives and equip hundreds of spiritual encouragers, discipleship coaches, and biblical counselors for over 20 years. 

In 2024 and 2025, we will be developing a Spanish version of the Change that Sticks course, from which we will seek to develop a Spanish version of Step Up - our unique counselor mentorship program. Michel Galeano will work on the course translation, and Luis Mendez will record each training session in SPANISH at live monthly church events in South Florida. Luis is one of the most experienced Spanish counselor-trainers in the biblical counseling movement. Luis has led Spanish counselor training in Latin America and in the States as a part of the ministry of Bethel Baptist with John Piper, CCEF with David Powlison, and Faith Lafayette with Steve Viars.

Once developed, we estimate the Spanish Change that Sticks course will graduate over a hundred students in its first year, whom we hope will enter the Step Up Counselor Mentorship Program soon after beginning personal ministries of effective and authentic biblical counseling, coaching, and encouragement in South Florida and Latin America churches. Based on the sphere of influence of Luis Mendez and the Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center, we estimate that over 1000 Spanish-speaking enrollments will be reached within the first several years. 

You can help us begin and complete our first phase of Spanish translation and recording of Change that Sticks by becoming a monthly donor. For years to come, the impact of this project will be experienced as more counselors will continue to be mentored and lives transformed, beginning in South Florida and extending deep into Latin America and beyond. • We have counseled many already in Miami, all of which have been either profoundly helped and changed or at least deeply influenced in their thinking and living by the unique truths and approaches to change taught in the Scripture through Biblical Counseling. We have a *turn no one away policy for lack of funding.

• One of these counseling outcomes has included a teenager in depression and self-injury who was restored to Christ after trying several other counseling approaches.

• Another outcome study consists of a church leader caught in secret addiction finding a depth of deliverance from the addiction he never experienced though attempted many times.

• Another outcome of the Miami Biblical Counseling Center includes preserving a marriage headed for divorce, now practicing the humility of Christ toward one another in their marriage.
