Community Project

Letting Faith Inform Our Work

The MYP Community Project is the culminating service experience for students in International Baccalaureate Schools worldwide. At Lakewood Catholic Academy, our faith informs our works. We began the year with a retreat during which students were encouraged to identify their gifts and their interests. Then they identified needs in the world that could be served using these gifts and interests. While some projects were limited due to springtime quarantine orders, most LCA 8th graders completed their Community Projects with a spirit of engagement, enlightenment and growth. We are proud of our 8th grade Saints for their service, and we know that they will now go forth, committed to sharing their gifts with the world!
