There are many needs to keep the marching band season running smoothly and plenty of opportunities to serve!
Below, you can find all the service committees, their Lead Parent, and a description of how you could be involved. You can be as involved as you want to be!
After reviewing the needs and descriptions for this year below, please complete the Google Form to express at least two potential service areas.
Heather Cook will take care of fitting students for uniforms during the weeks of band camp. Each student is assigned a number, and a master list of uniform names and numbers is created.
Helping hands are needed to wash 5-6 uniforms after games and competitions. Use your home washer and dryer and return them before the next performance.
Heather will provide detailed care instructions for uniforms and communicate the schedule of washing and returning in respect to each performance date.
Families needed: 6-8
Chaperones are needed to push props, load equipment, and care for student needs at Friday games, Saturday competitions, and our overnight trip. Scheduling for each performance is arranged closer to the specific date based on your availability at that time.
Tarah Clark will be the point of contact for all chaperone questions and scheduling needs.
Friday games: options to arrive at LCA 5:45pm (4 adults) or 6:45pm (additional 6+ adults).
Saturday competitions: typically we depart LCA between 10:00am and 1:00pm, depending on our performance time. Adults may choose to ride the bus (limited spaces) or drive separately. Admission to the competition is free for chaperones. (10 adults)
Overnight trip: this year, we are traveling to the Charlotte, NC area for 2 days (1 night). Some chaperones must be present at the hotel with the students for the entire weekend. (4 adults) Additional chaperones and crew will be needed for the Saturday competition to push props. (additional 6+ adults).
Beth Anne, Kevin, and Emily will establish the menus and organize the schedule of events that need meals for the season.
Helping hands are needed to bring in supplemental snacks, to serve game night meals (4:30pm arrival), and pack snack bags for the competitions.

Do you have a camera that's better than a phone? Take quality photos of all members during our games and competitions. Then, post the photos to the Band App for all members to view and download.
If you can help at a handful of events, all families will appreciate it! This is a low-commitment volunteer spot.
Families needed: 1-3
Our 24' trailer needs to be moved to the proper location on each game day and competition. During band camp and the fall season, there will be times of short notice when the trailer needs to be moved (weather, available facilities, etc).
Names of families that could potentially move the trailer in the event of an emergency or on short notice throughout the season are needed.
Families needed: 2-3
Can you paint? Sew? Construct? Bounce off creative ideas? We need more volunteers on the creative prop committee! Help the show come to life through design.
PROP BUILD DAY: August 22
Helping hands are needed for every performance to assemble props and back ensemble instruments prior to each performance in the parking lot (early arrival required). It is assumed that you stay through the performance to push props to the field and back to the trailer.
We will have a "trial performance set up" for all helping hands to know how the trailer is unloaded, equipment is assembled, the stage is set, and the trailer is reloaded.
Families needed: 10+

Helping hands are needed to bring in cold treats to hot band camp days and supervise events as they are planned (July 27 - August 7).
Families needed: 8-10
