Meet the WMS Wellness Center Social Worker:
Ms. Alex Hanel (she/her) ASW, MPH, PPSC, CHES®
Master of Social Welfare, UCLA
Master of Public Health, UCLA
Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Gender & Sexuality Studies, Tulane University
Ms. Alex is an LA native who is passionate about mental health, social justice, and the rights of youth. She loves working with young people and has worked with students and families across LA County. Ms. Alex aims to ensure all Washington students feel seen, heard, welcomed, and celebrated! She loves her pets, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Long Beach Unified School District's Student Support Services provides numerous services and resources to ensure the success of all students. Some of the available services include bullying and suicide prevention, LGBTQ+ resources, as well as LBUSD's Family Resource Centers and Wellness Centers.
