Class overview

Welcome to music at Keller Middle School! We offer band and orchestra classes for students in grades 6-8. As part of the Keller Music program you will make new friends while learning something new. You will play fun music and enhance your dual immersion experience by playing a variety of music including traditional Latin styles. You don’t need any previous playing experience to join and there is no cost to participate.

About Keller Music

Our music program began in 2020 with two classes and about 45 students. Since then, we have grown to almost 200 students and we now offer 6 different courses of band and orchestra. Our students are creative, dedicated and kind. As a dual immersion middle school, we strive to incorporate aspects of Latin music into our curriculum as well as the Spanish language. In 2023, we will be introducing a mariachi program for our Keller students to further enhance these connections.

About Mrs. Arnold

I started playing music in my sixth grade school music program and fell in love with playing. I knew then that my dream was to someday teach middle school and introduce as many students as possible to music. I have been teaching for over 20 years and have been at Keller since 2021. I have a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Brigham Young University and a Masters Degree from California State University, Long Beach.
