Lessons are self paced (see below)
Lessons are delivered by me in a video format
Students will take guided notes on the lesson
Students will then complete a practice assignment to show mastery
If mastery is not achieved on that practice the student will revise until mastery happens
When the student achieves mastery on the lesson, they will take a mastery check (like a quiz)
If mastery is not achieved on that mastery check, the student will revise and reassess
During this time, the teacher will help each student
At the end of each unit, students will take a summative assessment - this is the end of unit test or project that demonstrates their knowledge of the standards learned
60% of your total grade
Each unit will be graded out of 10 points, according to the rubric in the classroom resources
You will earn 100% on each classwork assignment you master
You will revise each classwork assignment you don't master until mastery is achieved
There are several MUST DO assignments each unit, and the students are graded based on how many of these MUST DO assignments they achieve mastery on
If all must do assignments are mastered, the student receives a B on the classwork for that unit
To receive an A on the classwork for the unit, the students must complete some SHOULD DO and ASPIRE TO DO assignments
40% of your total grade
Broken into 2 parts - mastery checks and summative assessments
Mastery checks will be graded out of 10 points, according to the rubric in the classroom resources
Summative assessments will be graded out of 30 points for each unit
Each students works at their own pace to achieve mastery in each unit
If mastery is not achieved on any given lesson, students will revise until mastery is achieved
There is a due date for each unit where the whole class will take the summative assessment
After the summative assessment, you can not go back and make up work unless there are special circumstances
The students will see a progress tracker each day when they enter class or check on Canvas
The students will also have a paper copy that they can record where they are each day that parents can see
Parents can use Canvas to see an update
Classwork assignments are posted in Canvas with titles that match the videos
Students need to work through assignments in order in Canvas
The numbers correlate to the textbook.
The first number is the investigation number
The second number stands for the experience number
The third number is for the lesson within that experience
So, lesson 2.2.1 is investigation 2, experience 2, lesson 1 in your textbook.
The assignments in Canvas will match the numbering system to make it easier for you.
