What is the Battle of the Books?

Battle of the Books is a reading competition where teams read a list of preselected books. The teams are then challenged and tested on their knowledge of the books during a battle competition.

How it works?

Students from Grades 7,8, 9, 10 and 11 are invited to join a team of max. 6 and read from a list of 12 books.  The team will be responsible for reading everything on the list. How they decide to divide the books depending upon the participants. Sign up will take place in the library during the last week of ______________. Students could start reading the e-book equivalent on Sora. Every Tuesday during lunchtime, both junior and senior BoB 2023 teams will be held in the library.To make sure that students are on track. They will be coached throughout the entire time. The 12 high schools have been divided into two divisions but the Divisional will be located at two different LBPSB high schools to be determined sometime in ____________.

The Battles:

There will be 3 levels of battle-, division, final and ultimate.  All teams will participate in the School Battle which will take place during lunchtime and the winning team will move on to the Divisional. The JRHS BOB team always goes on to the Divisional with 6 students and 2 adults. The division round will take place at (still undecided)__________________[month/year]. The top three teams will move onto the next level- finals. Finals will take place at (still undecided)______________[month/year]. The six teams will battle it out. The team with the most points will then move on to the ULTIMATE BATTLE will take place sometime in ________________ at the same location LBPSB Conference Room.
