Beaconsfield High School Library Learning Commons

Welcome to Beaconsfield High School Library Learning Commons!

Our Library Learning Commons (LLC) is a welcoming place for students to do research, work on projects or read for pleasure before and after school, or at lunch time. During class time teachers take their classes to the LLC under reservation on regular basis.

The mission of our LLC is to foster a love of reading and provide curated tools to access the right information, to offer free and easy access to print and online resources provided by LBPSB, to encourage and support literacy and an appreciation of lifelong learning.

The LLC houses a collection of more than 10,000 books (English and French, fiction and non-fiction, graphic novels and magazines, etc.). The online resources can be accessed from anywhere, anytime, with internet access: 5,000+ fiction and non-fiction books, article databases, and encyclopedias all available 24/7. There are 18 desktop computers and 34 Chromebooks available under reservation. Always guided by LLC principles, our LLC's design delivers modern and updated furniture, assigned zones for reading, group work or individual studying, drawing and coloring stations with writable table tops and Zen boards.

We proudly foster several LLC related activities each year : The Battle of the Books, Monday afternoon book club, authors and illustrators visits, monitors of the LLC, and more.
