The BHS Library provides free and open access to print and online resources to the BHS community of students and staff. Our goal is to encourage reading, and promote literacy.

Our Library Learning Commons (LLC) is a welcoming place for students to do research, work on projects or read for pleasure before and after school, or at lunch time. During class time many teachers take their classes to the LLC on a regular basis. 

The LLC has a collection of approximately 12,000 books in print (in both French and English). Online resources are also available and can be logged onto from anywhere at any time. These include more than 4,000 Ebooks and Audiobooks.

Students can borrow up to 3 books for a 3-week period. 

The LLC is a quiet place for students to read and study at recess and lunch. Students are not permitted to eat or drink in the Library, and lunch bags must be left in lockers.

The school Librarian is available every day to help students. This includes helping with research or helping to find them something to read! 

The LLC is one of the largest spaces in the school and hosts many multi-class activities, such as presentations, workshops, and meetings. 

The Librarian organizes two reading competitions every year.  

Cycle One students can participate in the BHS Reading Rumble.  

Cycle Two students can participate in the LBPSB Battle of the Books!
