To enable the success of the workshop format, which emphasizes breakout discussions and lightning talks, active participation is expected.
Pre-work: Participants will be asked to prepare 1 slide on the topic of their breakout session assignment. The slide can pull from the participants' own research along with key ideas and important advances in the literature. Ideally, the slide should focus on broad scientific themes and showcase research questions with a long term vision (~5-10 years). Participants will receive a slide template that will be sent in a separate email containing their breakout session assignment on Oct. 30. Participants will present their slide in the Day 1 breakout session. All pre-work is due by 5 p.m. on November 2nd, and should be uploaded here.
Homework: Between the two days of the workshop, participants will be given a brief assignment. Inspired by Day 1 activities and discussion, participants will be asked to prepare 1-2 slides on anchor concepts, custom facilities, and/or case studies.
Registrants are expected to attend both workshop sessions, if at all possible.
