In support of the electrical utility upgrade in building 70A, the Projects & Infrastructure Modernization Division is planning to perform an electrical shutdown that will have direct impacts on utility power in buildings 50, 70, and 70A.

• Thursday, April 9, 7:00 a.m. - Friday, April 21, 10:00 p.m. 

  • Building 70A

    • • Normal (utility) and emergency power shut down

      • Standby power available in select areas only (See 70A Critical Equipment List worksheet)

  • Building 70

    • • Chilled water and Low Conductivity Water shut down

• Thursday, April 16, 6:00 a.m. - Friday, April 17, 10:00 p.m. 

  • Building 70

    • • Normal (utility) power shut down

      • Standby power available in select areas only (See 70 Temporary Power Request worksheet)

      • Building occupancy resumes on Saturday, April 18 at 6:00 a.m.

• Wednesday, April 22, 6:00 a.m.  

  • Building 70A occupancy resumes at 6:00 a.m.

FOR BUILDING TENANTS

• All building tenants are asked to place equipment in safe and stable condition prior to the start of the outage as follows. Use this guidance from EHS to prepare your lab or technical area. 

  • Building 70A: Thursday, April 9, 7:00 a.m. 

  • Building 70: Thursday, April 16, 6:00 a.m

• The buildings will be inaccesible during the power outage. Please coordinate any special or emergency access requests with your Operations Deputy. Once your Operations Deputy approves the request, contact the Site Operations Center.

  • • Building 70A will be inaccessible during the scheduled power outage, from Thursday, April 9, 7:00 a.m. to Tuesday, April 21, 10:00 p.m.  For emergency access, contact the Site Operations Center.

    • Building 70 will be inaccessible during the scheduled power outage on Thursday, April 16, 6:00 a.m. to Friday, April 17, 10:00 p.m.
