ALL NATIONAL LABS ARE INVITED!
For details on how to join each event, please contact your local lab Lambda rep who will find the details in the National Lab Pride Google-group.
The 1st of June marks the beginning of our month-long Pride celebration! Join us (virtually) as we raise the rainbow flag at Berkeley Lab's Blackberry Gate: proudly on display for every person who enters the lab.
Start your day/week/month off right with the Lambda Alliance!
This virtual poster session is intended as an educational experience for both presenters and attendees, as well as a celebration of Pride. The event will be focused on experiences of the Sexuality and Gender Minority (SGM) community and other minorities with an emphasis on intersectionality.
Navigate to the Berkeley Lab ERG SGM Poster Session page for more information, including deadlines, formatting guidelines, and contact information.
Allies make up a large portion of the Lambda membership, so we'd like to host an event to talk about ways to practice allyship! This presentation "Putting the 'All' in Allyship" is a great opportunity to learn about how you can participate in creating a safer and more welcoming environment for your SGM colleagues.
Hosted by Berkeley Lab Lambda Alliance ERG co-chair!
Don’t feel glum about missing the in-person parade this year - get creative with Berkeley Lab Lambda Alliance's second Pride crafternoon!
During this event, we’ll be building our floats for the virtual Pride Parade, so get your glam, glitter, and office supplies and join us on zoom to make the float of your dreams with your pals at Lambda. (Check with your local NLP rep about the 1st Pride shoebox float crafternoon on May 27th!)
For many of us at the Lab, most of our experience in SGM culture comes from a Euro-centric perspective. In this joint event the Latin American and Native American ERG and members of the Bay Area American Indian Two Spirits (BAAITS) organization, we'll have the privilege of hearing about gender identity from a native perspective.
Come and join the Berkeley Lab Lambda Alliance for an exciting and informative talk and discussion with our Bay Area neighbors.
In this special edition of Berkeley Lab Lambda Alliance's monthly game night, we'll be shaking things up a bit with Jackbox Games! All you need to participate are a cell phone and your computer to join the call.
Hold onto your hats, this game night does not hold back!
Our crowning event for June is the virtual Pride Float Parade! Join us for a spectacular whirlwind of color and creativity where lab members from Berkeley and other National Labs will showcase their homemade, bite-size floats.
This year's SF Pride theme is: "All In this Together," and in keeping with that, we're opening up this event to other Lambda members in the National Lab network. Come and meet your familiar pals from Lambda - and some new faces too!
P.s. Want to participate but not sure how to get started? The EAA is hosting two crafternoons for float building leading up to this event: one on May 27th and one on June 9th! Get that glue gun ready ;)
Are you a huge fan of literature written by or about people in the Sexual-orientation and Gender Minority (SGM) community? Perhaps you've recently read an excellent opEd or memoir you'd like to share? Or maybe you just want to get some tips for the best new tomes for your Summer reads?
Then come join the Berkeley Lab Lambda Alliance at this very special book club! We'll be goin around and sharing snippets and recommendations of the best work by and about SGM folk. Bring your recommendations and your banter!
After a fantastic month of activities please join Berkeley Lab (virtually) to lower the Pride flag inside Blackberry gate and reflect on the brightest, most joyful month of the year :)
