Machine Learning for Science Workshop at LBNL

We invite you to the inaugural workshop on machine learning for science at LBNL, ML4Sci, organized jointly with the annual NERSC Data Day. This workshop will feature excellent work on scientific ML applications at the lab, covering high energy physics, nuclear physics, cosmology, chemistry, biosciences, materials engineering, climate and high performance computing. The talks will provide overviews of the state of the art in ML methodology and technology, and provide hands-on training for deploying ML applications on NERSC platforms.

Program
The first day of the workshop will feature introductory talks on the fundamentals of statistical inference, machine learning, and deep learning, followed by invited overview talks on machine learning challenges and applications for scientific domains. The second day will feature contributed talks on applications and methods.
Venue
The main workshop program will be hosted in the building 50 auditorium. We will provide Zoom link for remote participants.
The poster session location will be in the cafeteria annex in building 54 on Tue, Sep 4, at 5pm.
