The purpose of this assessment is to understand how well ISM is implemented in LBNL research laboratories.  The emphasis of this assessment is on ISM core function 4, “Perform Work within Controls.”  It focuses on a researcher's knowledge of their work, the associated hazards and controls, the work authorization and the performance of work.  Other aspects of ISM will be reviewed, but this assessment is not intended to cover the entirety of ISM.
