Elements users can link their account with with certain social media accounts, which allow users to share Elements content with their social media followers.
Once connected, the SNS [user's personal social networking service] will send Dynamic Signal your user profile (including profile photo, handle name) and analytics information about the posts you share on their platform, such as how many people potentially see a post, the number of responses generated by your content, and information about the activity related to your post (such as the number of likes and shares, but Dynamic Signal will NOT have access to the actual responses or identity of individuals who interact with such content).
Dynamic Signal does not collect, use, or sell individual user data. The Lab communications team does make use of user engagement data (likes, shares, comments, and reposts), but only as aggregated analytics that help us determine the overall content preferences of the Lab population. Also, note that connecting your individual social media accounts to the Elements platform is not required; this is an optional feature that makes it easier for Lab users to share news about the Lab with their colleagues and friends. All other functions of the platform are available should you choose not to connect to social media.
The Lab is working with Dynamic Signal to ensure that employees who sign up for the Elements platform know they are agreeing to Berkeley Lab terms of service, not Dynamic Signal terms of service. Please watch Elements for a valid, updated terms of service document that reflects this.
