Entrepreneurship Resources
at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
The Intellectual Property Office offers a range of entrepreneurship support programs to scientist-entrepreneurs at the Lab, in order to:
Increase the number of national-laboratory-developed technologies that are transferred into commercial development or industry agreements.
Train national laboratory researchers to better understand the commercialization process and private sector needs.
Transform national laboratory culture to value commercialization and entrepreneurial activities.
Note: With approval from their Area/Division and the Research Compliance Office's Conflict of Interest team, Berkeley Lab researchers have the option of starting a company while keeping their research job.
