I know many families (mine included) and many classes (mine included) have had elves visit during the holidays. The idea behind the elves is that they watch the children to make sure they are being “good”. The elves make some silly mischief as well. I get the concept and have participated in hosting elf visitors over years. Instead in the Kindergarten Crew, we are doing something different to remind children that during this season (and all year) the most important thing we can do is be kind to one another. When we share our kindness, it grows. I also want to remind them that anyone can catch them being kind and they can catch others being kind as well. So this month in the Kindergarten Crew, by performing random acts of kindness we will help the Grinch grow his heart. Crew members who are caught being kind can help his heart grow by adding a small heart to fill up and grow the Grinch's big heart. Once it is all red, our crew will earn a special surprise to celebrate with all of our big hearts!
