My name is Dr. Justin Sulsky, and I have been a teacher in the Long Beach Public Schools since 2015. This will be my ninth year teaching LARC. Gifted education has always been important to me since I was a student who attended elementary gifted classes. I attended public elementary schools in Queens before relocating with my family to Long Island. I obtained my BA, in history, from Brandeis University. From Hofstra University, I earned an MA, in Social Studies and Gifted Education, and a CAS in Educational Leadership. I completed my doctorate at Hofstra University in Educational and Policy Leadership in May 2021. My dissertation was about teacher hiring practices. I co-coached the Long Beach elementary Odyssey of the Mind teams for seven years and have been an advisor for the 5th Grade Mock Trial program as well. Lastly, I teach teachers who want to obtain the New York State Gifted certification at Molloy University. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and traveling. I am thankful to be part of the wonderful Long Beach community as both a teacher and resident!Â
