As you are fully aware, students will not be returning to school for the rest of the year. At Lawton Middle School we are fully committed to the safety of our students and community. In accordance with the Executive Order, Lawton has designed and created a Continuity of Learning Plan. Creating a learning experience during a school shut down does not need to look like learning in the classroom. As caretakers, we encourage you to develop healthy routines with students that create opportunities to address all of children’s needs. Even though schools no longer have face-to-face instruction, this does not mean they are closed. Learning will occur in an alternate manner using remote learning. Remember, remote learning does not mean all learning has to take place online; it simply indicates that learning will occur at a place other than school. The staff at Lawton Middle School believes that learning must continue for all of our students. Even though the building may be closed, teachers will be providing ways to deliver their content. Our highest priority is providing content in a manner that keeps all families safe and healthy during this pandemic. Students will gain access to their education through Google Classroom, virtual lectures, teacher office hours, email, or phone.
