Welcome

I am Lisa Borden. I love this Library and sharing children's books. I earned a Masters degree in Library & Information Studies from UA in 2000. I have a MS along with an EdS in School Counseling. I retired in 2025. After retirement, I returned to Mt Hope School a few days a week.
As a young child, I loved to browse and explore the books on the shelves in the library. As a student, I loved to sit down in the library, where it was always quite and read the Marguerette Henry books. The story about Misty of Chincoteague intrigued and inspired me to read more about my passion of horses.
My dream is to attend the Annual Pony Sale at the East coast of Virginia on the Chincoteague Island. (You can click on the link and read more about this adventure.) I wish that all students would use their time to enjoy the library. Then they would appreciate all of the knowledge and adventure that is waiting for them inside a Book!
Just keep Reading!

Did you know? The library gets funds from the Boxtops for Education app. Mt Hope participants will scan their receipts into the app or if you have your Walmart, CVS, etc, cards connected, a percentage is sent to the library. There is a list of stores that support the program when you purchase certain everyday products.
