This is Mrs. Lisa Borden. She's been the Librarian at Mt Hope School for over 25 years. She received her Masters degree in Library & Information Studies from the University of Alabama and a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from Athens State College.
As a young child, she loved to browse and explore the books on the shelves in her middle school library. As a student, she loved to sit down on the carpet of the library, where it was always quite and read the Marguerette Henry books. The story about Misty of Chincoteague intrigued and inspired her to read more about her passion, horses.
One of her dreams is to one day attend the Annual Pony Sale on the East coast of Virginia at the Chincoteague Island. Click on the link and read more about this adventure. Her love of the library started that year in middle school. She wishes that all of her students would use their time to enjoy the library and appreciate all of its knowledge and adventures.

The library was the recipient of a matching grant that we used to purchase new library tables and chairs.
2024-2025 Events
Did you know? The library gets funds from the Boxtops for Education app. if Mt Hope shoppers will scan their receipts into this app or if you have your Walmart, CVS, etc, cards connected a percentage is sent to the library. There is a list of stores that support the program when you purchase certain everyday products.
