HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE
Everyone has dignity and worth. Recognizing and respecting human rights is one way we demonstrate our appreciation for everyone’s fundamental worth.
The Human Rights Committee (HRC) of the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is dedicated to fostering awareness, respect, and promotion of universal human rights. It serves as a platform for students to discuss, analyze, and become sensitized to human rights violations occurring across the globe.
HRC’s quarterly newsletter, Lex Scripta, encourages students to research and write on contemporary human rights issues, enhancing their understanding and advocacy skills. The committee also organizes guest lectures, providing opportunities to learn from seasoned professionals in human rights protection. Its flagship event, Human Rights Week, engages students through creative and educational activities, offering fresh perspectives on the complexities of human rights. By facilitating meaningful discussions and initiatives, the HRC empowers students to become active contributors to the cause of human dignity and justice.
