In combination with the Lavallette Career Awareness & Exploration Program (CAEP), Reality Town is an interactive and engaging curriculum for our 8th grade students. The students will apply their career and financial knowledge to maintain a mock family through a two hours simulation event at the end of the school. Students are taught financial literacy classes with lessons in budgeting expenditures (ie. housing, transportation, childcare, insurance), balancing a check book, and making responsible financial decisions. Students will have this opportunity to see the connection between education knowledge, financial literacy and careers in real life.
