"Have you ever wondered how it is that some people seem to have enough time to do everything that they want to, whereas others are always rushing from task to task, and never seem to finish anything? It cannot just be that some people have less to do. It’s much more likely that they are using their time more effectively: in other words, showing good time management skills." ("Time")
The Problem:
“There’s too much to do and not enough time. I've got school, homework, job, friends, parties, and family on top of everything else. I’m totally stressed out. Help!” (Covey 53)
“A student often wears many different hats: partner, worker, friend, classmate, etc. Often times these roles are in conflict, and a student must be adept at attending to a variety of factors and assessing priorities.” (Karambelas)
The Solution:
“Effectively managing your time will help you meet classwork deadlines, increase the quality of your work, reduce your stress, and accomplish your goals, while also helping to ensure that you have time for your other interests and passions.” (AVID)
Our suggested steps for time management:
Prioritize your goals
Create a time schedule with a to do list
Set up deadlines
Maintain everything organized
Avoid distractions
Prepare for mental breakdowns
Good Luck!
