1. OverDrive-
Wide variety of Titles!
Overdrive has limited copies per title, working much like physical copies do.
Borrow up to 30 items.
Ebooks automatically expire at the end of the lending period. Thus, no returns necessary and you’ll never have to worry about overdue fines.
If the ebook you want is checked out, simply place a hold and you’ll get an email when it’s ready to borrow.
How does OverDrive work?
When using a device, download the App:
For iOS, Android, or Windows 10 devices, download the new Libby app.
If you’re on a Kindle Fire, download the original OverDrive app.
Once the app is installed, find Los Angeles Public Library.
Borrow ebooks using your library card number.
When using a computer or laptop:

This service works differently than OverDrive. Hoopla has UNLIMITED copies per title so no holds or waiting lists are necessary!
Borrow up to 15 items on Hoopla Digital.
Ebooks automatically expire at the end of the 21 day lending period.
How does Hoopla work?
For iOS, Android, or Kindle Fire devices, download the Hoopla digital APP.
If you’re on a COMPUTER, visit the Hoopla Digital website.
Create a Hoopla Digital account:
Enter library card number,
PIN, and email address.

All LAUSD students have Student Success Cards unless they are newly enrolled for the 2020-2021 year.
If a student does NOT know their library card number or PIN, they can fill out the retrieval form and LAPL will look up that information. Click here.

if you are a resident of LA County.
The Bell Public Library which is part of the
Los Angeles County Library (not LA CITY Public Library) is offering a
temporary Digital Library card
that allows you to access ALL of their digital resources!
Please CLICK below or use the embedded, online form on the right side.
Have a guardian 18 or over sign up.
An email will arrive with a "digital library card number" and the "pin" number that was selected by the applicant.
