A bit about me...
My name is Batool Ali, and I teach 3rd Grade in Room 17. I received my B.A. degree and California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University Northridge. This is my 28th year of teaching and my 24th year at Haynes CES. In previous years I have taught grades one, two, three and four. In 2017, I came down to 3rd grade after 12 years in 4th grade , and I have enjoyed 3rd grade ever since! Mrs. Richard, Mrs. Dwyer and I collaborate together and plan the best possible 3rd grade experience for our students . I love teaching all areas of science, especially Life and Earth science. I enjoy collecting cultural literature and honoring cultures from around the world through projects and read-alouds. Apart from teaching, this year I am on the LSLC(Local School Leadership Council),the math/science committee, and the volunteer tea committee.
I live in West Hills with my family. I have two adult daughters. Both attended LAUSD schools and were also students here at Haynes. Both girls help me with the creative aspects of the classroom and have contributed to several "Haynes related endeavors!" We enjoy spending time together playing board games, watching plays, shopping, discussing books, watching movies and , of course, discussing Harry Potter!
In life, my greatest and most profound influence was my late father. He was a constant role model for me in every conceivable way. His strong character, conduct, discipline, patience, selflessness, and generosity have taught me many lessons about life and how I want to be remembered by my students.
