The Hill We Climb

A Lesson Plan

Millions of us were inspired by the powerful words of our nation's first Youth Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman, at the Inauguration ceremony on January 20th. Her poem, The Hill We Climb, speaks to a new era for our country.

PBS has shared this lesson plan, developed by Kate Stevens, a high school teacher in Colorado. It is suitable for students in Grades 6-12 in English, ELD, or Social Studies.
